The split did not affect my shareholding on the supposed effective date, and I decided to sell it all that day at a nice premium to the cash-out price.

The post-split stock is now trading under ALMCD, last trade $12.

Alimco Financial Corporation (ALMC) announced today a 1-for-10,000 share reverse stock split of its common stock (the “Reverse Split”), effective May 31, 2017 at 6:00 pm Eastern. The Reverse Split was followed immediately by a 1,000-for-1 share forward stock split (the “Forward Split”).
All record stockholder accounts holding less than 10,000 shares of common stock immediately prior to the effective time of the Reverse Split will receive a cash payment of $1.21 per share on a pre-split basis in lieu of receiving a fractional share of common stock. Any fractional shares of common stock existing after the Forward Split were rounded up to the next full share.
The company’s transfer agent, Computershare Inc, is the exchange agent for the stock split. Computershare will send stockholders holding stock certificates a letter of transmittal providing instructions for the exchange of their stock certificates for payment of cash-in-lieu of fractional shares or post-split share certificates.
Registered stockholders holding shares of the company’s common stock electronically in book-entry form with Computershare are not required to take any action to receive payment of cash-in-lieu of fractional shares or post-split shares. Such stockholders will have their positions automatically adjusted to reflect the stock split and will receive payment of cash-in-lieu of fractional shares from Computershare.
Stockholders holding shares with a broker or other nominee are also not required to take any action in connection with the stock split. Such stockholders will have their positions automatically adjusted to reflect the stock split and will receive payment of cash-in-lieu of fractional shares in accordance with their broker’s or nominee’s procedures for processing the transaction.

I've been following ALSC for several years now and own some shares. As you all know, there was a FINRA ruling that went against ALSC last year relating to their arbitration against JP Morgan. The stock tanked shortly after.

The volume has been pretty dead following that ruling. It certainly does not mean that ALSC doesn't have a strong case about being misled into buying the Ambac Auction Rate Securities. They can still certainly sue again -- and recent rulings against big banks may bolden their positions there.

As for the millions of shares traded pre-market at $0.20. My only thought is -- they were bought double yesterday's close(last close was $0.10) so someone obviously wanted these shares pretty badly and in a large quantity. There's been so little volume on this stock that it's a pretty big shock to me to see how much volume changed hands without any new news.

I just don't get it. All the trades have happens in deuces this morning premarket. This is the highest volume day this ticker has seen past couple of years.
Just have no clue as to how this is happening or whether it means anything!

I mean, for every trade, there has to be a seller, and then on the other side there has to be a buyer willing to buy those shares!

Alliance Semiconductor Announces Special Cash Dividend Alliance Semiconductor Corporation (Pink Sheets:ALSC) announced today that its Board of Directors declared a special one-time cash dividend of $3.75 per share. The dividend is payable July 17, 2007 to shareholders of record as of July 6, 2007. “This special cash dividend reflects the commitment of the Company’s Board of Directors and management to return value to the Company’s stockholders,” said Alliance Chairman Bryant Riley. “After payment of this dividend, Alliance retains substantial cash reserves. The Board will continue to consider the best means to realize value for the Company’s stockholders, consistent with its ability to meet its obligations.” Alliance also announced that, as required by the terms of the Company’s stock option plans, appropriate adjustments will be made to the terms of outstanding stock options to reflect the impact of the cash dividend.
