Lionsgate has picked up feature rights to an original superhero property from Stan Lee that Alfred Gough and Miles Millar will write, direct and produce through their Millar/Gough Ink shingle.
Details of the untitled project are being kept under wraps, but it's described as a multigenerational superhero movie that spans several decades.
Lee and Gil Champion will produce through their POW! Entertainment banner, which has a deal at Disney.
The comicbook vet approached Gough and Millar with the superhero concept after becoming a fan of "Smallville" and collaborating with the two scribes on "Spider-Man 2."
In addition to the "Spider-Man" sequel, Millar/Gough Ink's credits include the scripts for Disney's "Shanghai Noon," its sequel "Shanghai Nights" and DreamWorks' "I Am Number Four." For Disney, they are also producing "Zed," which Susannah Grant is scripting based on the final days of Texas high school theater teacher Lynn Shaw.
The duo also is in the midst of producing the Sylvester Stallone actioner "Bullet to the Head," based on the French graphic novel "Du Plomb Dans La Tete," that Warner Bros. will release next year.
For TV, Gough and Millar were showrunners on this season's "Charlie's Angels," for ABC, and oversaw the CW's "Smallville," which recently ended its 10-year run.
Lee, who created Marvel's Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, the X-Men and the Incredible Hulk characters, recently also locked down Dan Gilroy ("Real Steel") to adapt his comicbook "The Annihilator" into a bigscreen actioner aimed at Asian markets.

Scribe assigned new Stan Lee character'The Annihilator' aimed at Asian auds
By Josh L. Dickey
Gilroy
Stan Lee helped launch Magic Storm Entertainment this summer to bring his newest superhero characters to life, particularly for Asian auds -- and now one is on the way, as the film finance company has hired "Real Steel" screenwriter Dan Gilroy to introduce the Annihilator.
It's the first film project for Magic Storm, a joint creation of Lee's Pow! Entertainment, Hong-Kong-based Ricco Capital Holdings and Fidelis Entertainment. Los Angeles-based Magic Storm, topped by CEO Eric Mika, was launched in June to develop and finance a slate of superhero fare designed to appeal to Asian markets, but that can cross over to others.
Gilroy will begin work on the story of a young Chinese man given a second chance as an international superhero who returns home to mete out justice.
"Words can't express how excited I am about this project," Lee said. "It's based on the most incredibly original and unique superhero I've created in a long time."
The CAA-repped Gilroy's credits include Universal's "Two for the Money" and the upcoming "The Bourne Legacy."
"Stan (Lee) is straight-up at the top of his game," Gilroy said, "and it's a joy to have a hand in bringing this to the screen."

Morning h24ever. Thanks for comming by and feel free to chime in. Thanks for the boardmark
Hey smallcap, thanks for comming by. Have you seen batman begins? If so....everyone I know compares ironman to it for best super hero movie...though some gave a slight edge to batman?
Good Morning Jacktrades. Saw your post on legale's board, Good luck with your board, and im #5
You have to see Ironman...was one of the best movies I've seen in the Theater in a LONG time. Heard it was much better than Indiana Jones from a few people...Was going to see Indy tonight. Ironman was awesome.
That I hear is real good too. I havent been to the movies in years so I dont know how many days or weeks to wait after a movie comes out....for a less crowed theater?
I haven't seen IronMan yet either, will probably wait for it to come out on dvd, but everything I've heard/read about it has been positive. I might actually brave the theater to go see the new Indiana Jones movie though, will wait till the buzz dies down a little so I don't have to battle a full theater.
Batman begins is in my opinion the best super hero movie so far. I hear iron man comes close...but havent sen it yet.
I think I enjoyed pirates 2 a little better then 1. I'll have to watch 3 again then when its on. I could not figure out who was on what ship. So I was lost...lol. Was it me or did davey jones seem silly in 3? Well it does have one of my favorite actors in it...Ken Watanabe...also in batman, the last samurai, memoirs of a geisha and letter from iwa jima...all good movies in my opinion.
Yeah heat is a real good movie. It was on cable the other day but not in widescreen and I think with commercials and editing...YUCK. I wonder if that is out on blu ray yet...thats a keeper!!! Goes good with good fellers, casino and raging bull...
I agree, Batman Begins was an awesome movie, one of the few movies I actually own on dvd.
I gotta disagree about the Pirates movies though, I actually liked all of them (albeit a little less each movie) but they were pretty entertaining if nothing else. I didn't like the 3rd one the first time either, so I watched it again and I got a better idea of what was going on.
While on the subject of great movies, I watched "Heat" the other day, what a classic that movie is. You gotta love Pacino, Deniro, Kilmer, Sizemore, Judd and of course Pedro Cerano from Major League all rolled into one movie!
Batman begins I would add to a top 20 movie list if I was to make one....the new one has the same director and so hopefully it holds up. I watched it on hd dvd the first time. The prestige was also another good movie by chris nolan. While I'm on christan bale movies Im looking foward to him in the next 3 terminator films as john connor.
I also liked that hulk the more I watched it. I felt the oly acting that was poor in it was talbot...especially the house scene when he makes banner mad. I had no idea nick nolte was supposed to be the absorbing man...talk about a complete change. Otherwise it was good if you could let go of the actually history of the hulk(which was all changed). I learned to do that now with all super hero movies. I go into it pretnding its just a big comic and the writer wants to change things....and the way the fantasic four was changed im glad i did.
I agree about the new hulk movie. Actors are all good in it as well. Thought the director has only done the transporter 2 and unleashed....I didnt like either. Keeping my fingers crossed
I like an upper-center seat, but will take an aisle seat also (more leg room and fast access to the bathroom).
Thats funny. I got hooked on the Mummy cartoon, so I enjoyed the movies when I finnaly saw them.
I liked Batman Begins so I have high hopes for this Batman movie. The last Hulk movie I saw on DVD. I didn't like it the first time I saw it. After watching it a few time it grew on me. I think it was confusing for people that don't follow the Hulk, and don't know who the Absorbing Man is. It also wasn't clear if the army was the villian or the Hulk (Iknow it isn't either of them, but the movie made it so it could be either).
I think that Marvel has the Hulk formula. The Abomonation as a villian, and the Hulk as the mis-understood monster-hero.
When I watched the first pirates movie I was dissapointed. I had hoped it would be a more serious movie. I then gave the second one a chance and went into it with the adventure type movie mindset such as Indiana jones, hidalgo, the mummy(which I didnt like, though the new mummy comming out with jet li has a kung fu movie thing about it,though brenden frasers stupidity has to go)...so enjoyed the second pirates movie for what it was....
I enjoy a nice center middle seat...though I never go anymore. Last time I went was for the hulk in 03...and I actually had to stand up and say shut up lol. I really do hate those that talk through the movie and I cant hear whats being said. And yeah the restroom makes u miss alot. I like the price of a dvd and the pause button/rewind when you miss something.
I may go for the hulk or batman
I've only seen one of the Pirates movies. It was entertaining enough, but not enough that I would watch any of the others.
As much as I like seeing movies in the theater, I tend to wait to see a lot of movies until they are on DVD. I hate crowded theaters (I never get a good seat), and for some reason, even in a noncrowded theater, people sit near me (people I don't know) and want to talk amomgst themselves about stuff. Then there is the whole have to go to the restroom during the best part of the movie, thing.
I'll probably see Iron Man next weekend, though.
I promise not to post doom and gloom about movies.
Anyone see the pirates of the caribean(just watched it on cable recently), At world end. I didnt like it...probably the most confusing movie of the series(not that I thought they were so great)...anyway I have alot of complaints! The biggest one being...who was on whos ship? I normally like long movies. Lord of the rings extended...kingdom of heaven extended...ect
But this movie should of been 50 minutes less
Green!!!! lol, thanks for stopping by. I checked those music sites you sent me but you can't post on one of them...at least here we can talk about whatever.
Thanks for stopping buy Rick. Maybe we can dissagree about movies or something over here lol.
Boardmark added!
Jack, I added your board to my favorites list.
Good luck.
New experience with Wii Fit. The new wii fit makes me sorry I sold my shares of nintendo back when. Anyway....the board actually shows you on screen how you stand. How you balance your weight. I have been getting some mild pain towards my heels as of recently. The wii fit actually told me I have to shift my weight foward...amazing. The mild pain went away immediatly....the workout are great and fun as well
