I am thinking of starting to trade more once again.

Share | Email | Print | A A A May 18 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies may have unusual price changes in U.S. markets tomorrow. Stock symbols are in parentheses after company names, and prices are as of 5:50 p.m. in New York, unless stated otherwise.

Standard & Poor’s 500 Index futures expiring in June added 0.3 points to 907.40.

American Express Co. (AXP:US) lost 0.4 percent to $26.02. The largest U.S. credit-card company by purchases will cut about 6 percent of its workforce as cardholders squeezed by rising unemployment fail to pay debts.

Interpublic Group of Cos. (IPG:US) added 2.3 percent to $5.38. The second-largest U.S. advertising company said in a regulatory filing it amended a credit pact, preserving its ability to tap the agreement if General Motors Corp. or any of its affiliates file for bankruptcy.

Invesco Ltd. (IVZ:US) lost 6.6 percent to $14.55. The manager of the Aim and PowerShares funds plans to sell $400 million of additional common shares. The sale of additional shares may dilute the value of those held by investors.

MGM Mirage (MGM:US) gained 2.4 percent to $8.95. The largest operator of casinos on the Las Vegas Strip amended its loan agreement with lenders led by Bank of America Corp. to waive covenant defaults and allow it to pay down debt, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

MSCI Inc. (MXB:US) fell 10 percent to $21.03. Morgan Stanley, the sixth-biggest U.S. bank by assets, plans to sell its remaining 27.7 million shares in the index provider in a public offering that may garner about $650 million.

Stocks Edge Down as Investors Watch Mideast- AP
Wall Street wavered in early trading Monday as crude prices rose on concerns that Israel's attack on Gaza might disrupt oil production and shipments from the Middle East. Oil rose near $40 a barrel Monday after the conflict between Israel and Gaza's Hamas rulers raised tensions in the Middle East. Light, sweet crude rose $1.24 to $38.96 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As they prepare for the new year and a new era of business development, Continental Fuels (CNFU.PK), Heartland Oil and Gas (HTOG.PK) and Universal Property Development (UPDV.PK) have combined their operations in order to reduce costs. As a result, Continental Fuels CEO Tim Brink has assumed control of the combined operation.

We have analyzed the operation from top to bottom and eliminated duplication of effort particularly in upper management and accounting,” reports Brink, now the CEO of the entire group of companies. “We continue to maintain sufficient personnel to operate all of the Heartland wells as well as at the Port of Brownsville and Geer Tank Trucks. In the current economy, particularly in light of the falling price of oil and gas, we have moved aggressively to protect and pursue our business model.”

With the cooperation and assistance of its main lender, Sheridan Asset Management, the restructuring will allow Heartland to continue to grow as UPDA’s exploration and production arm and Continental Fuels, Inc. Gold is now selling at about 670 times the price of copper with gold around $871/oz and copper at about $1.30/lb...Scrap copper is only paying between .70/lb to .90/lb now roughly...

The distortion of gold times silver's price is almost twice what it was when silver was around $20/oz...Silver is around $10.53/oz...Aluminum is around .20/lb. now...

Is China going to start re-build using gold and/or silver in the areas that were impacted by the destructive earthquakes in 2008?...Not likely...

The miners focused on copper and maybe aluminum companies will see a rebound in demand in 2009 if the auto industry finds just a little higher sales plane in 2009...

Only a Wag in a headwind right now, of course...LJ
