Did you happen to catch what Elon Musk did as a massive F-U to the shorts on TESLA? He put a pair of red satiny short SHORTS on sale on his website, that had the letters of the models splayed across the butt. They sold out in minutes! :)
Would love Geert to do something similar when good news is announced-that would be awesome!!!!
Thanks -- that answer actually works for me ;)
I'm heavily invested in CVM and have been for several years. I feel good about everything I have read and truly appreciate how many of you have been really great about educating so many of us and keeping us informed of things some of us (especially ME) don't even know to look at. Like most everyone, I nervously and anxiously await the results and PRAY they are good. (please please please please!!) :)
Thanks again for indulging my question! Best of luck to all on the board!
Sushi--Geert made it very clear during one of the shareholder meetings that the 298 was not necessarily a "reportable event." He may have used a different term, but that's what I recall.
I was actually surprised to see that PR today, as I was under the impression we would not be told when that number had been reached.
I know we can only presume at this point, but you have always provided thoughtful insight as to what might be going on.
I think many of us appreciate being informed that the long journey to 298 has reached its destination (no disrespect to the test subjects) and that means that the read out and success (or not) of this trial is now within grasp.
In your mind or if anyone else wants to weigh in with what they think, why do you think Geert changed his mind about reporting this?
Thanks!
Amen to that! What a day! It was beautiful--not only for CVM but almost ALL my holdings!! I think the all the coronavirus coverage has been depressing the market and today it seems like it was the first day that the news wasn't ALL about coronavirus!! I think its important to be informed certainly--many are suffering as a result, but I think the market shook it off today in a big way. I couldn't help myself, I have too much invested here but decided to buy a little more. Got my mom to join in too. There's still a lot of time left to buy between now and April! ;) Good luck all--I feel happy that people are surviving longer! I am also so happy that we are all doing well here. Hang in!!!
Sab and Robot--have you been watching SPCE? ;)
Thanks rizona. I half expected that was the case which is why I've never done it. You've confirmed what I thought was my best course of action. I appreciate the input!
Good afternoon-- I have a question that is probably stupid but am going to ask anyway. With a significant amount invested here, should I put a stop loss on my shares or is that not advisable? My first significant investment was in Dendreon years ago, and thankfully I did not know about stop losses as I watched several people get taken out by the high speed computers at their stop losses as the stock dropped below $2.00 then zoom up to over $50 the next day. But that was years ago. Is there any value in using stop losses to hedge or is that a recipe for disaster? I am convinced that Wall St. has figured out ways to rob us of our $ coming and going. Thanks to anyone willing to weigh in--I'm just not experienced enough when it comes to this.
Wooooooooooo, NICE DAY!! ;) I don't post often but am still here. Many thanks to all of you WAY smarter than me for all of your insightful posts. Thanks to a good many of you, I remained invested, even on those days and weeks where it seemed like nothing of note was happening and it was easy to get discouraged. There were times my very soul struggled with being invested in a stock where we are waiting for people to die in order to gain results. (I know that is often the nature of these trials, but still, it vexes me)...as such during those days when nothing seemed to be happening, I kept telling myself it meant people were living longer and that's a good thing. CVM has been one hell of a ride, more of one for many of you but a ride for all of us nevertheless. I am praying for an excellent outcome, for all of us here, for the people that will benefit from the drug, and for Geert's tremendous tenacity and determination. BRAVO! Good luck to all!! I've been in other companies where the investors talked about a party in Vegas or some other location for a celebration once everything worked out, but then never materilized. I sincerely hope that if this is successful, that there will be an opportunity to meet some of you in person somewhere so that we can toast to success!! LOVING today's action and feeling good!!
OH HAPPY DAY!!! Has CVM EVER gone up by over 1$ in a day in its history? I don't think I have seen this kind of action since I have owned and I have been in and out for years!!!
I'm gonna be honest....this feels gooooooooooddddddddd. WOO. HOO!!!!!!!!!!!! The waiting has grated my every last nerve!!!
HA! For sure....(no offense to any attorneys on this site) ;P
LOL! You guys are awesome!! Geert must love the fact that this board is doing 70% of his work for him!! ;) Trustbaby, I SOOOOOOOOOO hope you are right. That PR would be OUTSTANDING!!!*****
Remitt--wishing YOU and the rest of us all the BEST here. Nothing is ever a certainty but this one is looking very positive. ;)
Yeah, it sucks, sounds like we took a similar approach! ;) I have my fingers and toes CROSSED ON THIS ONE, I feel strangely more calm about this one (but that's likely due to everyone's inputs and smart DD), but I am heavily invested here. I whittled my initial 10,000 shares of PCYC to 1000 as it roller coastered up and down so as to not lose my shirt if things went south and as we all know that one shot north like a cannon (BAD IDEA ON MY PART) I would have been sitting QUITE PRETTY as opposed to sitting a little cute--hahaha. But as you say, all you can do is move on.
The waiting is definitely and by far the hardest part although in CVM's case, we need to look at waiting as a POSITIVE!! So that's what I'm trying to do, even if I'm getting antsy!!! ;P
Sab--Janet Woodcock played a HUUUUGEEE role in getting the Sarepta Drug approved for the boys with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy, and I got to watch that stock zoom to almost $50--it started experiencing some bumps, I chickened out, took my money and ran! I should have stuck with it!!!! It's now trading at $150 agggggggghhhhhhhhh!! (But good for everyone who remained solidly there!) She is a GREAT advocate!!
$4.33
Sushi, thanks. The information you provide here is invaluable! I have marked my calendar accordingly!
So long as it goes up from where I got it at $1.35, I'm happy. Didn't expect it to zoom like I'm hoping this one will, but hey. Hoping there might be a buyout.
I think the competitor is no big shakes. This one has no side effects and can be taken with alcohol if desired. no contra-indication.
But at the end of the day, they gotta execute sales. so we shall see....now my undivided attention is OVER HERE!! :)
Good Morning Fellow CVM-ers, was in Philly the last two days and just got around to adding my shares to the spread sheet.
Last night, jumped onto check my stocks and saw that PTN got approved by the FDA yesterday after hours. Not sure if anyone had joined me over there, bt let's hear it for FEMALE VIAGRA!! Woot Woot!!! LOL And guess WHO was on the iHub board earlier that day trying to scare shareholders into selling but none other than ole Clay!! The approval DID catch me a little offguard as my intent was to take about 1/2 off the table (just in case) but the damn thing never ran up in anticipation so I sorta let it ride and crossed my fingers. A GREAT way to end Friday for sure!!! Not enough shares to make me a millionaire but may take some profits and roll them over here.
This is what I am hoping will happen here. That EXCELLENT news will come bolt out of the blue and catch us ALL off guard (ESPECIALLY the A-hole shorts!!) and that we will all jump for joy and exuberance and do the Geert dance. Gonna have to get someone to show us that so that if and when we get there, we can all do it at the BIG PARTY!!! :)
I found a dollar next to my car this morning (def not mine, no one around to claim ownership) and I took it and the approval of PTN as an excellent sign for the (hopefully) continued rise of CVM this week!!
A FABULOUS weekend to all of you!!!
Impressive!!!!
I KNEW it was one of you fine people who had mentioned it, (I just couldn't remember who! ;)--NBY buyers are crying the blues today, it went screaming down as fast as it hauled butt up, (I'm not crying tho, still up 50%--woot! woot!)--I think it will be ok once everything settles--I'm guessing the day traders were having a field day today. I saw that several on the V*$t board were also talking about <VR^S>--also on the ticker buzz cloud. Thought it was interesting so picked up a few. I tend to stay away from those penny stocks since I've gotten KILLED numerous times, but I was intrigued, so we shall see.
Considering what's coming for CVM, I figured our little "down" day today would be an awesome opportunity to pick up a few more shares, so I grabbed another 2500. CVM is going to make me awfully rich, or put me into a REALLY BAD MOOD!!! LOL. But I want to make sure I have enough shares to come to the big celebration party if that's how things end up---would love to meet and shake hands, hell even give a big HUG to some of you here who have provided such great insight and smart posting on this stock!!
On Amazon I believe it will be a much more affordable $39.99 and no prescription needed, so they may get more sales and more market share? The stock was halted several times today, and is up almost .73 in the after market. Could end up fizzling but I don't know, because I never feel fully comfortable understanding what all is going on. Nevertheless, I guess I was in the mood to gamble a little! ;)
I do know ONE thing tho--I am fully comfortable HERE, thanks to all of you SMART guys!
I sold some positions on losers to buy NBY this morning when it was making its rapid ascent, and managed to get in at $1.60 but was not ABOUT to touch my CVM (and was very happy to see it performing so nicely today) CVM is my largest holding right now, but I did also drop $1k on VYST today (a ticker someone else on this board mentioned in a post--not you, right?)
AWESOME CVM day today!! WOOHOO!!!!!!! Please let these days continue! [Anyone happen to get in on NBY early this morning? It was a great $$-making day!]
NICE! Maybe people who read the article and decided it was time to jump on in! ;) Sorry...didn't mean to read anything into it...but hey, ya never know!! Article was AWESOME! Thanks again to you for spearheading and to all who contributed...I've read it several times now and feel like I learn something new every time I reread it! GOOD STUFF!
My "step" brother-in-law is a broker (not sure what co. here in VA). Out of curiosity, I asked him Saturday night if he had heard about Cel Sci (he had not), he pulled out some app on his phone, plugged in the ticker, and told me to stay away based on what little info he was looking at given what's gone on these last 3 weeks. He then told me to look at some other ticker if I wanted to make $$. I will NOT listen to him. He's the same person who I asked about PCYC, back when it was trading in the $30's...he told me to stay away. I ignored him and stuck with it, and PCYC was bought out a couple of years later at $265. Sooooo, I think there are just way too many stocks out there for brokers to have their fingers on the pulse of every single one, even one that has a good story behind it, sometimes they are behind the curve. Especially a stock that's only trading in the $4s-$5s right now. I looked at the ticker he recommended and its already in the $60 range--in general I like to stick with the lower priced tickers. I can tell the mood on the board is not quite as jovial as it had been when we were trending up toward $8, but I honestly don't think anything significant has changed. Yes, we got walloped and pounded down, but without any real reason from what I can tell. I see that there is significant concern over the 298 # suddenly being considered a non-event--but I thought that whoever described why its the resulting data that is more important than being told that we hit the actual 298 # really made sense. I keep secretly holding hope that the price will stay down here for a little while longer until I can buy as many more shares as I can at this much better deal. I am waiting on a consulting check that doesn't come in til this Friday and keep worrying that I am going to miss out! For those of you who are able to keep picking up shares--good for you! Listen, May is all but over, and IMHO, I feel in my gut this is going to head back in the right direction sooner than later and we are all going to get back to a happier place again!! GEERT is still standing!!! :) HANG IN EVERYBODY!
Sushi-what were you MOST bummed about? A--The fact that the share price fell to lows we haven't seen in a while, or B--not having the cash on hand to pick up a whole ton more!!? (I was feeling B today) When these extreme drops happen it is easy to feel that punch in the gut feeling, but you have done a tremendous amount of DD and it sounds to me that since you didn't sell, your hurting gut is telling you to stay the course!
From the sounds of things, Geert seemed pretty positive and happy at the SH meeting (DANCING, even!)--that doesn't sound to me like someone who is terribly afraid that his trial is about to experience a colossal failure! Anything can happen, yes, but I think we are in the best shape to be in, given where we are on the calendar thus far. Pls continue to stay positive and provide all those awesome insights. There are a LOT of smart people on this board, many of whom are providing context and opinions and insights that are awesome food for thought. NOTHING is ever guaranteed (and losing money--even UNREALIZED gains SUCKS)...you well know but the potential here is really something. Keep remembering what you have said before--that the shorts are out to get your shares and they know how to play the game better than most of us. No doubt there will be many days of price manipulation and feelings of deja vu ahead, hang tight!!! I look forward to seeing your article once its published! ;)
Respectfully, I'm going to have to disagree. EVERY single one of my stocks went into deep red today, every single one. And not by just a little either. I think CVM has been immune in the past to some of these horribly down days of May, but I think they got swept up in it like the rest of them---much to do with the China trade deals, the potential iran threat, etc., etc., etc. NOTHING here has changed. I DO think the SA hit piece caused SOME panic, I felt a momentary tinge of it myself, when I saw my holdings go down by almost $13K and began to question whether I am holding too large of an amount, and whether I need to trim back a little. The continued downtrend would cause anyone on the fence 9or who has been on the CVM rollercoaster before) to remember that pain and maybe trim their holdings a little. I stayed in, because I think this is a bunch of BS noise, stuck my fingers in my ears and screamed blah blah blah as loud as I could to keep it from permeating my OWN thoughts and questioning my own decisions!!! I'm looking forward to hearing from anyone who is able to make the SH meeting on Monday. Not expecting anything huge to come out of it, but I'm guessing that if someone asks, they will confirm that there is nothing that should have impacted the share price at the moment like what we saw the last two days. *HOPE* I'm right!!!! ;)
Do my eyes and ears deceive me!!? We all knew Claytrader would show up sooner or later but actually sounded positive about this one...shocker
Sadly, I can't get out of work and won't be able to make the meeting as I'd hoped, but will be on the phone (and plan to attend the next one!) Managed to grab 1000 more shares this morning at $7.60, before the Shareholder's letter came out! YAY, me!! Now, did anyone BUT me feel like much of what was in the letter sounded ALOT like some of Sushi's posts!!? Is that you, Geert!!! :) You and some others have definitely been saying a lot of the same things--MUCH APPRECIATED!!! I felt like the letter was TREMENDOUSLY positive. No guarantees of course, but he pointed out a lot of the same reasons many of us have jumped back in and are holding on tight. Let's hope we are in the home stretch of a major win this time!!! As for the street dipsh*t, he has managed to screw many of us over in many ways--let this be yet another of his HUGE FAILURES--hate that guy with a passion!!
TODAY has been a BEAUTIFUL DAY INDEED!! I wish all my fellow investors excellent luck here!
BTW, in the interest of sharing, I also just bought a little bit of PTN-- a small bio (trading under $2 right now) that will be up for FDA review on their "female Viagra" product on June 24. It's been climbing steadily and will likely continue (I HOPE) until the decision comes out. I don't know a WHOLE lot about it, but may be another opportunity to make a few $$ if anyone feels like checking it out! Do your own research tho--let me be 100 % CLEAR, I don't consider myself a market or investment pro...but it might be worth a look (OR NOT) to any of you who might be interested...
HA! I WISH!!!! I guess I should have caveated my post by saying I have a significant amount of shares (FOR ME)--everything is relative, right? Alas, that amounts to waaaaaaaaaay waaaaaaaaay LESS than over 500K shares but more than 5K!!! :)
At any rate, I do want to go, I'd like to see Geert up close and personal and hear what he has to say. I invested in CVM loonng ago and did get reverse splitted until I finally dropped out with what little I had left over, but always thought the science was encouraging and have kept my eye on this for years. Jumped in, making several buys when I saw it headed back up into the 3s...and have enjoyed reading everyone's posts. I like the positive sentiments, even though I am invested with trepidation....I feel like this is CVM's year, it kinda has to be if they are truly going to succeed.
I lucked out with Dendreon, bought it the day the FDA approved it for $4 and cashed out at $58 right before it hit its major snag, but PCYC was my best investment EVER, and yet I kept selling off my positions as the stock kept making its climb (because I kept hearing the "pigs get slaughtered slogan in my head)--I did well, but considering I had bought close to 20K shares when it was trading at $1.19, I probably would be living on an island somewhere right about now, instead of dreaming about it!! I held through the SRPT FDA decision which was hard, because there were so many naysayers, and like a COMPLETE IDIOT, bailed shortly thereafter (when it was like $80/share...they are now at $117, sigh--trying to remind myself that I still made money so its OK. I got KILLED on ONCY or Onty, I forget the symbol, and I jumped out of ISRG, NFLX, AMZN and GOOGLE WAY too soon. I sometimes wonder what the hell I'm doing investing when I obviously don't know a thing about it--I tend to go by my gut and what I read on the boards, which is stupid, I know, but it's worked in may instances--sooooooooo...I've been keeping up with Sushi's Board and trying to ingest everything written here to keep informed. Thanks to everyone for all your thoughtful and informative posts!!!
I'm thinking about going since I have a substantial amount of shares, I should go. Just need to see about getting the morning off from work, and making the drive to Baltimore from VA during rush hour, which doesn't sound appealing.
But considering the fact that this company is either going to make me very rich or possibly cause me to cry in my beer--I'm thinking think it might be a good idea to go.
Thx Sobek--while I am always on the lookout, I think I'm going to stay out of the penny plays for now, have lost too much $ on them, so I obviously don't know what I'm doing!! ;) All in on Nividia and hoping it won't let me down.
Thx Sobek--will check it out!!!
Hah! Gracias---
Thanks Sobek---appreciate it!
Yes, I am still here. Have not heard--but notice that we have 0 volume on BDIC. What'd they say?
Thanks so much for your reply!! Makes sense! Sitting tight...
Hello, glad to see some of you back posting, hope you all came through the hurricanes with minor grievances and issues! Will the Chron Board be changing to a new board name? I'm a shareholder who doesn't post much but I do read what all of you far smarter than me are saying and don't want to get lost as a result! THX
Wow--thanks for sharing. That bit about the supermarkets IS annoying and surprising, but you are right (although I suspect that now that they have been through something like this, they may be a little better prepared next time (one can only hope!) Surprisingly that has happened here in No. VA too. EVERY time we get a snow storm, or the possibility of one, the run on the grocery stores is ridiculous. We've never had a situation where the storm has lasted more than two days or so, and yet you go to the grocery store and forget getting anything like milk, bread or toilet paper. I get the stores have to do that just in time inventory (since milk and bread are perishables) but TP too? It always makes me wonder WHY so many people are running out of TP in a storm! Are we all so scared sh*tless that we go more often!? haha--I don't get it. I just saw there are three more storms churning in the Atlantic with one (Maria?) set to become a hurricane on Sunday with potentially the same path as Irma. [HOPE NOT]--keeping an eye on Jose too as that one looks like it might stay out to see, but we might get hit with some of the bands...am figuring that I better stockpile some stuff in prep for a bitter winter. We have been REALLY fortunate the last 8 years at least, winters have been incredibly mild. Seeing how weather has decided to be INSANE this year (and it got cooler in August, although we're right back up in the 90s now), our luck is bound to run out.
I've all but given up on BDIC, but can't seem to get my shares sold without agreeing to just give them away. Never good to have everything in one basket I know, but am SO tempted to sell EVERYTHING I own and just buy buy buy more NVIDIA stock. They went screaming up this past week and just got price upgrade to $250. Even though the stock is trading at $180, that will look cheap when it goes up by $70! Don't really know how I feel (personally) about AI technology, but its coming no matter what. And here I thought buying NVIDIA at $45 a share was a ton of money. Shows what I know--but man did I ever get lucky. OMVS and Chron on the other hand...........ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Trying to stay patient but I should have listened to your concerns!!! Enjoy your Sunday!
Yes. On the FLIP side, this was an incredibly huge and powerful storm, and had it come ashore and maintained its intensity it would have been far worse.
I'm in the crisis and emergency management business and its always a tough call. When people are told to evacuate many won't because they've experienced storms before and while bad, they weren't THAT bad, but winds in excess of 160 mph are incredibly deadly, more SO is the storm surge and flooding (hello Hurricane Harvey, Katrina and Sandy).
My nephew runs a family owned trailer park on Fort Myers Beach and his wife made the decision (with him kicking and screaming) that they would evacuate with their 3 children (two on the lower end of the autism scale) along with their dog. They ended up in Atlanta and she and the kids are now here in VA with her sister. While my nephew is saying that FMB did not appear to get walloped as badly as they might have, the power is likely to be out for the next two weeks and a water boil is in effect. That might be too much on 3 little kids.
I'm just thankful it was far worse on all of you. My heart is broken for the people in the Caribbean whose homes and livelihoods have been 100% decimated. :(
Glad you weathered the storm ok, Sobek--newscast make the destruction seem pretty extensive throughout the State. Full recovery is apt to take a while...:(
