Viscount Systems, Inc. (VSYS) designs, manufactures, and services access control and security products such as door access control systems and emergency communications systems. The company's products have been installed in approximately 35,000 sites in over 30 countries, including prisons, schools, hospitals, and corporate offices.

Designing security systems since 1969, the company has developed strategic working relationships with leading equipment vendors to support its continued profitability and growth. Viscount has been consistently profitable for nearly 15 years and currently generates annual revenues of approximately $5 million.

Five hundred dealers help distribute Viscount's existing products throughout North America. This distribution network is not static as the company constantly pursues additional sales channels. Products are advertised in various print publications and regularly displayed at tradeshows as well. Direct marketing via training seminars also helps drive sales.

Viscount's management team has more than 60 years of combined experience in the development and production of electronic door control and telecommunication systems. Under this leadership, the SIA Convergence Solution of the Year accolade and Platinum Award for Emergency Response and Gold Award for Access Control at the Government Security Awards (GOVSEC) for 2011 have been presented to the company.

Viscount Products

Viscount has been controlling building access for over 30 years. In addition to a wide range of systems and components described below, Viscount offers the MESH Security Operating Platform as a foundational technology for coordinating facility protection.
The MESH Security Operating Platform removes complexity and cost from facility protection systems by replacing masses of traditional card reader controller hardware with standard IT servers and accessories. MESH transforms the concept of physical card access into a platform that can manage an incredible array of card access, intercom, video, and other devices, through a common interface layer.

MESH provides the following powerful features:
  • New or custom applications can be created quickly and inexpensively.
  • Human Resource, IT, and other database related functions are easily integrated.
  • Technological advancements are easily implemented.
  • Multiple applications can operate on one platform, one server, or one computer.
  • Users, readers, and devices are globally managed as an IT application.

Freedom

Viscount's newest product is Freedom; the world's most advanced Physical Access Control System. The software component of MESH Freedom is the MESH web browser security operating platform.
Freedom engages Microsoft's Active Directory for unified Logical and Physical Access Control and provides a platform to natively accommodate the US government's FIPS 201-2 initiatives. All databases and mediums used for logical security are also used for physical security.
Freedom also eliminates the complexity and cost for facility protection. This software product does not utilize the traditional Access Control Panel and eliminates all the cyber security risks associated with this legacy technology.

Freedom Facility Friend

MESH Facility Friend is an add-on module to facilitate the management of staff and visitors through manned entrances. Applications include photo badging, visitor management, incident reporting, scheduling, banned visitors, and lost and found.  It's a web based application allowing unlimited numbers of corporate locations to be linked for comprehensive facility management. The system includes support for a number of ID scanners for simplified enrollment and tracking. Individualized passwords allow users to pre-register visitors including expected arrival and departure times.

Freedom Nanoserver

The Freedom Nanoserver is a software processing unit for the Freedom IP based access control and facility management system. Each Nanoserver can act as a standalone access control system for up to 20 doors. For larger facilities with more sophisticated facility protection requirements, Nanoservers can work as a local database appliance working in conjunction with a Freedom Plus server to provide high levels of redundant database support.

Freedom Encryption Bridge

The Freedom Encryption Bridge is an IT platform that uses IP card reader bridges designed to free you from the oppression of access control panels. With Freedom, you never have to buy costly control panels ever again. You can turn any card reader into an IP device by connecting it to a Freedom Encryption Bridge. Card usages are sent as encrypted messages to a local or remote server(s) and control panels are not required.

Freedom Raid Server

The Freedom Raid Server is a premium central processing option for the Freedom IP based access control and facility management system. Each Freedom Raid Server can act as a standalone access control system or can be used as a distributed database appliance, working with other Freedom servers sharing data across a network.

ABC Vault

ABC Vault is a Web and cloud software application to automatically generate the As-Build drawings that are required for most security specifications. This is important, since As-Built drawings are normally prepared by the security integrator at the conclusion of a project, without CAD software. End users can easily misplace them, and integrators often don't have backup copies. ABC Vault dramatically simplifies the process of designing the As-Built drawings, plus it allows any document related to building contingency planning to be safely stored in a central location for quick access as needed. Drawings can be performed before a project is even begun, and attached to the specifications to save confusion and walk-through questions. During installation, they can be shared between the consultant, end user, and integrator, to make changes and clarify door requirements.

Enterphone

Enterphone X (EPX) is the newest model of the Enterphone "no phone bill" building entry control system. It is distinct from other telephone entry systems in its ability to tie into a building's internal phone wiring, thereby bypassing monthly telephone charges. It also does not require tenants to pay for an individual phone line to operate the system and is not affected by interruptions in telephone company service.

Enterphone Axess is an incredibly economical telephone entry system for any building up to 1,000 suites. As an Enterphone® 2000 panel, the enclosure is called the Centurion. For the additional benefits and features of the Enterphone 2000 system, please request an Enterphone 2000 brochure from Viscount.

Enterphone Classic is Viscount's premium Enterphone® 2000 entry control panel for admitting guests to multi-family complexes. The Classic panel features oversized 1" keypad buttons to assist seniors and the handicapped in using the system. The separate directory kit includes Viscount's unique individual magnetic name strips to allow simple re-organization. The thin footprint of the Classic panel allows it to be surface mounted while projecting an almost flush mount appearance.

Enterphone Slimline is Viscount's traditional Enterphone® 2000 panel for admitting guests to multi-family complexes. Viscount has been manufacturing Enterphone systems since 1964, and the Slimline panel was first released in 1966. This makes the Slimline the perfect panel to be used when upgrading older Enterphone I, Enterphone II, Enterphone MKIII, and Enterphone IIIS models.

Enterphone Elektra 2 is a versatile, cost effective telephone entry system. It has a built-in two line LCD directory that is easy to read in direct sunlight or at night, without additional options. The Enterphone Elektra 2™ can be used independently as a dialer or as a panel for the Enterphone® 2000 system.

Enterphone Elektra 4 is a versatile, cost effective telephone entry system. It has a large built-in four line LCD directory that is easy to read in direct sunlight or at night, without additional options. The Enterphone Elektra 4 can be used independently as a dialer or as a panel for the Enterphone® 2000 system.

Enterphone Solo provides the latest in convenient door communications for any single residential or commercial intercom application. Using the Enterphone Solo is easy. When you hear the distinctive ring, you simply pick up any phone for connection to the door. The unit is compatible with cordless phones to allow you to answer the door from anywhere in your house or even outside.

Clik

InfraClik is Viscount's infrared remote access control system. The palm-sized transmitter is a hit - users love its ease of operation and added security. Installation and use is easy. InfraClik receivers mount in a standard single gang electrical box. To use a transmitter you simply point it at the receiver and click the door or gate open.

RadioClik is Viscount's radio frequency access control system. RadioClik transmitters offer the convenience of traditional radio frequency openers but with the security of fully computerized access control systems. The miniature-sized openers fit on any keychain to allow easy use without having to remove the keys from your car's ignition.

EnterProx

The EnterProx VP (Vandal Proof) card reader system from Viscount provides a perfect solution to any access control application where the convenience of proximity is desired yet plastic readers would be subject to theft or vandalism.
