Pentair (PNR) reported results for Q4 FY07 on February 5, 2008. Net sales for the quarter were $830.2 million,
up 11.7% from that of Q4 FY06. By segment, net sales to external customers in the Water segment were
$565.52 million, up 13% on a year-over-year basis, while net sales to external customers in the Technical
Products segment were $264.69 million, up 9% over the previous years’ quarter.
Gross profit was $257.63 million, up 24% from that of Q4 FY06. Operating income was up by 48% to $90.16
million, while income from continuing operations was up 26% to $48.31 million. Net income was up to $48.54
million from $38.63 million a year ago, a gain of 25%. Diluted EPS came in at $0.48, up 23% from the
year-earlier period of $0.39 and above the consensus estimate of $0.47 per share.
The company issued Q1 FY08 EPS guidance, in the range of $0.46 to $0.48, representing an increase of 10% to
14% year-over-year. In addition, the company affirmed its full year 2008 EPS guidance in the range of $2.25 to
$2.40. This represents an increase of 8% to 15% versus the adjusted FY07 figure.
