NovaCopper Inc. (NYSE-AMEX, TSX: NCQ) is dedicated to advancing exploration in the Ambler District, a high-grade copper-zinc-lead-gold-silver property in Northwest Alaska.
NovaCopper was incorporated in April 2011 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of NovaGold Resouces Inc. Effective April 30, 2012, NovaGold distributed to its shareholders, on a pro-rata basis, all of the issued and outstanding common shares of NovaCopper, following which, NovaCopper was no longer a wholly-owned subsidiary of NovaGold.
This transaction amassed the talents of the exploration team recognized for revealing the enormous geological potential of one of North America's premier gold development projects, a healthy balance sheet, and a single-minded concentration for creating extraordinary returns through the drill bit.
NovaCopper is now uniquely positioned to offer investors exposure to rising copper, zinc and gold prices, with additional upside from exploration success and resource expansion, as it determines the extent of the mineralization in the Ambler District.
The team at NovaCopper has been working in the Ambler District since 2004, and is equally passionate about building relationships through trust and mutual respect in the region. A long-term cooperative agreement between NovaCopper and NANA Regional Corporation, Inc., signed in 2011, consolidates the two companies’ land holdings into an approximately 331,200-acre land package and provides a framework for exploration and development of this high-grade, polymetallic belt.
We are proud of our long history of exploration success and resource development, and we're focused on delivering exceptional results to shareholders by developing a project that brings benefits to all stakeholders.
NovaCopper trades on the TSX and NYSE-AMEX under the symbol NCQ.
