GreeneStone Healthcare Corp. (GRST) is focused on operating medical and healthcare clinics in Ontario, Canada, offering addiction treatment, colonoscopy, endoscopy, minor cosmetic procedures, and executive health assessment programs. The company adds overflow capacity to an increasingly stretched provincial healthcare system, and provides private alternatives to publicly underserviced healthcare needs.

Ontario's public healthcare cost has grown at a compounded 7.1% rate over the past 10 years, now accounting for approximately $77B in government spending compared to $39B in 2000. This cost explosion is similar for the country as a whole, growing at 7.4% over the same period. The need for practical change to the system is immediate as demand continues to rise.

Governments are increasingly looking to private alternatives to address the growing trade-off between costs vs. service in the public healthcare system. Private services are expanding beyond their traditional place as overflow capacity to relieve wait times. GreeneStone Healthcare is particularly well positioned with a first-mover advantage in mental healthcare - a highly underserviced niche.

The challenge with most Executive health programs isn't in the quality of the services they provide, it's in the delivery. Executive medicals, counselling and coaching services are delivered by a variety of vendors, each one focused on providing only one service. While they can provide referrals to other services, there's no communication between them to ensure that their clients have all the help they need. The process focuses on service delivery rather than the client.

Physical health, emotional wellbeing and performance are all interconnected. After examining most Executive Health Programs, we realized that integrating these three aspects of Executive health and wellness was critical to addressing Executives' real "health" needs.

At GreeneStone, we feel it's our job to recognize each Executive's unique and diverse needs as they arise. Our case management approach focuses on assessing the client's needs and collaborating with specialists to address these needs with integrated services.

Addiction Treatment

The private pay addiction treatment business is not well established in Canada and there are only a handful of competitors that provide these services. Two of the biggest providers are also government hospital licensed facilities, that do both OHIP insured services and privately paid services. Most hospitals have a mental health unit that can handle detoxification, but do not provide addiction treatment programs. There is only one large competitor that is very similar to GreeneStone Muskoka and they are on the west coast of Canada. There are hundreds of private paid facilities in the United States and they would be the major competitor for those with the highest ability to pay for service. Service in the United States that offer the same level of treatment that is offered by the Company is generally 50% to 100% more expensive. We believe that travel to the United States by those with potential travel restrictions as well as a higher cost will eliminate many U.S. facilities as competition.
