FFEDQ FirstFed Financial Corporation Common Stock 12/31/2012 Bankruptcy Plan Effective. Shares have been cancelled.
http://www.otcbb.com/asp/dailylist_detail.asp?d=12/28/2012&mkt_ctg=ALL
That was pretty hefty volume today for FFEDQ...L2 says next up is .05. Something is up. Tiny float of just 13 million with 26.64% of the float short (according to my brokerage account). So far, so fun.
:)
At a hearing held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 to consider
confirmation of the Modified Second Amended Chapter 11 Plan of
Reorganization Proposed by the Debtor and Holdco Advisors L.P., Dated
October 10, 2012 ("Plan"), the Bankruptcy Court ordered that the Plan
be confirmed.
4. Describe potential future developments which may have a significant
impact on the case:
There is a potential refund of over $130 million relating to loss
carrybacks from earlier tax years. The FDIC, in its capacity as
Receiver for the Debtor's bank subsidiary, has submitted a proof of
claim which, among other things, claims that the FDIC is entitled to
some or all of any such tax refund and may have other super priority
claims. If the FDIC's claim is successful, it will reduce or
potentially eliminate any assets available for distribution to
general unsecured creditors. The Plan provides, inter alia, for the
Reorganized Debtor to continue to pursue the Debtor's claims to the
refund against the FDIC. The Debtor reserves its rights with respect
to any such claims by the FDIC.

Wow how did investors figure debts were to be paid? Did alright in shorting this stock and I still holding a very, very small position on the hope they can turn the debt over without to much dilution.
Look for dilution in the end game and only hold a very small position. Could get a dead cat bounce should there be billions of shares come available.
Thanks for the news ;)

Any news on this?
Same here with CIT. Lost the whole thing on it. GONe! This one is coming back. Do you know whats up with FFEDQ? Nice percentage gains here on little volume.
There all starting to jump ship.

I got my monthly fiancial statement from my broker and there was no CIT Group old common on it. You play the BK game and you can come up a looser.
I'm no expert on these things but there is mention of a dead cat bounce if you google it. Why I don't realy know maybe the company has a little cash that they use to help out the common share holders and then use it for a write off who knows but it has been well documented but I have yet to find out realy why.
Not much help am I to your question.for what it is worth I sold took a great loss being I bought at $.35 on average and held four thousand shares.
That is true, but we don't yet know if this will end up being only a shell...it's in the hands of the BK court in LA. When all is said and done, we just don't know how things will look. BK plays can be fun. Look at WAMUQ today (AND FFEDQ!).
My next victim for this type of play is IMPC...just another crazy "feeling." lol.
If this goes to "0"...
there is an intrinsic value in being a shell. Shell companies can go for about 500k or so depending on the circumstances. Perhaps the market cap is just reflecting that value.
Yes, I agree.
By the way the market cap is now $880K, which still seems mighty low for a company valued at $1.15 BILLION just six months ago.
Re: Short position
I do believe that if this was truly destined for failure that no amount of buying would invoke a short squeeze. The powers that be would just continue to short it all the way to zero and take advantage of any strength.
There must be something else going on here to the positive.
To AskMr.Owl and Rocky: It's impossible to say, but data indicated it would take about 7 days to cover.
I got in originally because at the time the market cap was $200K and the enterprise value as of the quarter ending 9/20/09 was $1.15 BILLION, and also because of the tiny float and short interest.
And the CEO, Babette, resigned her office and then almost immediately returned, so...dunno!
Too much fun.
Good luck.
can anyone post an L2 screenshot? tia
still rising .07 printed.....how far could a short squeeze take it Alyssa?
Re: Squeeze
If this is related to short covering activities then we should likely be selling on the way up as at some point, this could / should go to zero.
If this is due to the "lots of things" then we need to find out what those things are so we can decide to possibly hold on for a while.
For one, it's a cute little short squeeeeze. Tiny float of 13 million - short interest is about 26%.
And for two...not sure...could be lots of things.
;)
Hello
New to the board. Wondering why this is going up. Got in at .40 when I thought they were going to pull through. Any insight into why this is going up would be helpful.
no but i would like to know!!
does ANYONE know what is going on here?
It is a nice jump...It has been green 5 days straight. I just sold my shares and wait until it drops, I will jump back in.
No, It's new to me.What does this mean?
What ? Ffedq is mow one west bank ? I mention about this last week in here
dose any one know about this http://www.firstfedca.com/Page_1.cfm
most of the banks are going up today, what is going on ?
BOOM
.04 x .045 last trade .0375
I plead the 5th!
I know what it is your after it is the dead cat bounce, thats it.I forgot all about it. No I will keep my shares now thankyou for the bounce.
let me think about it here. I will get back to you.You must know something I don't and right now I can't figure out what that would be.
.023 up on the Ask
It only took like an additional 25K shares to break .021
I'll give you 2 cents per share.
good point. I think I will go ahead and do that. how much do you want to offer me for them, what I payed for them?LOLOL
good day so far, 40K bought at the Ask of .02 bumped the ask up to .023
The Ask got lowered to .021, then a 1K share sell at .02, followed by 2 buys @ .021, the first for 35K shares and the second for 20K shares.
Find something else that does "add up" to you then.
bye bye now
I don't think you can bring it any lower unless they reverse the shares and sell more of it and dilute us all to pay for the debt holders and from this board there sounds like they have buyers.
Like I said before this does not add up for me whats going on here.Guys buy after the restructuring not before it if you want to throw the dice.Crazy, crazy world I tell you.
haha, someone is trying really hard to bring this down further!
so far today we've had 3 sell orders at .017, one for 1,500 shares, and the other two for 500 shares each.
Total daily volume is 67.5K
You know what I think. I think the Q is BS. cause why in any ones right mind would someone buy a BK company and here you are all doing it unless your debt holders knowing you are going to be payed out by the cancellation of the common share holder and have the inside scoop as to the fact the company is selling common shares like crazy to raise capital to pay you guys off and then like a lot of cases issue you new common shares.
Something is just not right here.
look at Enron it is still trading under the Q but is it Enron as we knew it. It hasn't reported for years. It is all BS. I think it never went into BK LOLOLOL.
All the "Q" stocks will be canceled once the company exits from the bankruptcy.
Keyword, "Once".
Q stocks can trade...like forever. Look at WAMUQ and LEHMQ.
I have been wondering why Babette returned as CEO. Very interesting.
;)
I wish I could know, but look like people want to buy more than selling. That tells me something is going on so I can take the risk....more risk more profit
All the "Q" stocks will be canceled once the company exits from the
bankruptcy. FPWBQ exited last month and canceled today. We just do not know when will the bad CEO cancel our common shares. It is 100%
loss once the shares canceled! I feel the CEO of FFEDQ will do the
same but I do not know when? Does anyone know how long we can trade?
