Draganfly Inc. (NASDAQ:DPRO) rallied 10.9% on Thursday after announcing it has received an international military purchase order for its Commander 3XL drone platform.
The order, placed through a defense contractor, marks the company’s entry into the initial phase of a structured evaluation program intended to assess and integrate the Commander 3XL across a range of military applications. Due to contractual and regulatory limitations, Draganfly did not identify the customer, but confirmed the request originated from a defense ministry in the Asia Pacific region.
“This contract in the Asia Pacific region represents a meaningful endorsement for the Commander 3XL platform and Draganfly’s expanding footprint in global defense operations,” said Cameron Chell, Draganfly’s Chief Executive Officer.
The Commander 3XL is a modular UAV built for government and defense scenarios. The version ordered includes an AES 256 encrypted communications system, a ruggedized ground control station, and a customizable payload system intended to support surveillance, intelligence gathering, and logistical missions.
Draganfly said the deal is expected to lay the groundwork for a larger, multi-stage procurement pathway as the customer evaluates potential broader adoption of the company’s drone technologies across its operational divisions.
The order also reflects rising demand from international defense agencies for secure, NDAA-compliant unmanned aircraft capable of meeting diverse mission requirements while remaining adaptable to rapidly advancing technologies.
