one thing this board has illustrated very well is the way in which penny stocks that are scams are promoted.
they will list dozens of pumping posts a day from dozens of alias 'shills' to keep the "infield chatter" going.
that is what attracts the "marks" who are duped into buying the stock with the delusion its safe if all these other people think so, like ducks coming into decoys.
the amazing thing here is most of the stock is being bought directly from the company. the biotech portion has its own stock that has been bought by a consortium of doctors, among others. there is no public way that stock can even be traded. while anyone can buy it, i advise anyone to simply buy lkpl shares, as this will expose you to about a half a share of the biotech company for each lkpl share. if the biotech company is spun off, you will get a one time dividend based on that proportion, and still retain your lkpl shares.

The wipes are OK but what is needed is an IED detector from a distance of 100 yds. even if buried!

Should they provide that - they would really have something valuable!

linkplus changed the name to raptor last year, but still keeps lkpl as the stock symbol. they told me they were taking the company private, then going public again. i cannot fathom these machinations, i believe it has to do with getting funding for the company. the stock still does not trade with any volume at all, yet everyone is holding their shares so tight any volume makes the price spike way up or down. their association with JHU and now UM is still the best indicator i have they will eventually be successful. here's a news story from your second link mentioning the name change. they have been completely quiet for over a year now, but i heard a rumor of a $multimillion sale(over 10mm) to dubia. i hope they are packaging the company for a sale, which has been their plan all along.

these wars have been expanding and are endless. there is no political will to just pull out and protect the usa borders. human nature dictates a tit for tat existence to eternity. now we have groups of american muslims leaving the us from places like minnesota to join alkaida. while none of this makes any sense to a sane person, investing in companies that offer solutions to this aspect of human nature should eventually prove to be good investments. standing around and HOPING the problem will just go away is soon going to be replaced with a permanent CHANGE in the way we conduct security, although, sadly, it may have to wait for the next election.

lkpl stock price strength since the share holder meeting is inexplicable. no news was released that was not known. the main reason for the meeting seemed to be to discuss the pending moves to privatize the company. whatever is happening, a positive effect on share price is a sign that better things are around the corner. i'll continue waiting now.

Price went up 133% today on 21,000 shr vol. You guys should have been listening to me all this time. not too late to get on board for a 10 BAGGER at least, IMO!!!!!!!!!

this company is red hot, though the share price does not reflect that fact...yet. the company went public simply by converting all shares held privately to public. as such, there was no ipo, no underwriter, and no pump&dump shenanigans, and for the most part, very little stock trading. most shares are being bought directly from the company, which is helping immensely with financing. the mm's have few shares to trade, so the stock just sits. raptor shares are held extremely tight, so a 2000 share buy can jump the price 25%! this baby is a ticking bomb. someone big is going to buy them around $2/shr.

someone is sneaking some cheap shares this week! without getting into speculation about how columbia biosystems value will affect shares of lkpl stock, suffice it to say, buying lkpl shares at the .05-.10 level should give better exposure to any added value columbia biosystems generates as opposed to buying shares of columbia biosystems directly. right now there exists an inequity of lkpl shares to columbia biosystem shares that an investor can take advantage of. to make this perfectly clear, buying shrs of lkpl right now is still the most cost effective way to gain exposure to a possible columbia biosystems sale or revenues.

Yesterday, we were informed by the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) that we were approved for a Maryland Technology Transfer Fund (MTTF) award for $75,000. This award is in addition to the Maryland Industrial Partnerships (MIPS) award for $149,000 reported earlier.

The state of Maryland has been very supportive and, via these awards, recognizes the potential of our Molecularly Imprinted Polymers technology. We have two additional proposals outstanding for substantially more funds. With additional funding, we should have our first biotech product prototype, a spray to detect MRSA on clinical surfaces, by the end of 2009.

Columbia Biosystems continues progress in the new year:

Columbia biosystems has been physically located to the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) Technology Center. This is a great environment for a biotech company. To be a tenant here, you have to be a biotech or information systems company. There are about 20 biotech companies here and the support and feed back is great.

already, numerous unique mrsa protiens have been identified as possible mips binding sites, the most promising one is the penicillin binding protein, which has a low affinity for betalectam antibiotics, and makes the bacteria resistant to these antibiotics.

currently, research is ongoing to determine addition proteins, and to verify and isolate those already discovered, expected to be completed by 2nd q 2009.

columbia biosystems has recently applied for a number of grants which can total almost $2mil. raising money without selling stock is a very good sign.

Raptor announced a new contract with the army today for more explosive detector materials. and columbia biosystems has applied for ~$400,000 in grants to develop the mrsa detection system, i.e. swabs, wipes, sprays. more interesting to me, JNJ is now involved with company and may end up being a "partner" as an investor or buyer.

there has been a flurry of activity regarding the new biotech start-up. imo, the company is making good progress toward realizing a marketable product using this new technology. once the first product has been accomplished, the company will literally be worth 50X its current value. thats like 12.5 homeruns. my kind of stock.

regarding all the new changes, linkplus, (now raptor detection), owns a 55% stake in cbs. cbs is a private company, is placing stock privately. i do not know for sure, but i believe the intention is to keep cbs private. so the only way to have a "tradable" position in cbs is via lkpl shares. i'll try to get a definitive on this point from mgmt, and post it later.

some other key stats, lkpl/raptor now has 100,000,000 authorized with 55,000,000 out. cbs has 60,000,000 authorized, and i do not have a placement figure.

they are going full speed ahead developing the mrsa detection sprays, swabs, and films. product is estimated to be in test phases during the latter part of 09.

news- the company communicated a mrsa test color change swab for hospitals is slated to be developed. the goal is for the test give instant confirmation if mrsa is detected from anyone tested. this sounds like a great begining use for this tech.

I updated ibox with Dr. Jonathan Gluckman's ceo message. he took over ceo job last year, and Bob Jones is now heading the new LPBI division. the letter is dated and does not include any info on LPBI. but the actions of this company of late with regards to LPBI have seemed to opened the avenue to the kinds of financial rewards/risk shrhldrs expect.

i got a little more info on LPBI. they say they've developed 3 products for the mips biotech:
1. a 500-1000ml lab scale viral purification unit, customizable to customers' virus of interest.
2. a large, 10-100kg industial scale chromatic recognition system, good for purifying vaccines, and particles useful for gene therapy.
3. a dialysis system, compatable with existing dialysis systems that will convert them into virus removal systems capable of reducing blood viral loads, hiv, hepC, and others.

as a result of months of marketing efforts, a partnership with a Dubai national has been formed, and may result in a multi million dollar contract as early as 1st q 2008.

Good - filter is from blood which is removed from the patient, treated then returned. The next step, perhaps, is to take a pill which does the finding, filtering and removal all ON SITE - in the body. Sounds easy - probably is not.

that's exactly what the pr refers to, "filter hiv from blood supply". the logical extension of that is a test for all the various viruses. early detection of cancer via the virus that causes it would be monumental. right now we are just speculating, but this looks like a very positive event.

With this feature --each have a unique protein coating that "fits" like a jigsaw puzzle piece into the mip-- why do they not use the mip to remove the virus from a person so infected? Locate, lock on and remove/destroy it. Seems like a logical extension of the tech, to me.

hey guys, i stopped by lkpl HQ last week and got a demo of the new product. basically it's white paint with a nano particle explosive detector added that changes color to hot pink immediately on contact with whatever chemical the mip is programed to detect. they have developed a projectile and a gun to fire it. the projectile is a glorified paint ball with its own rifling, the gun fires it with compressed gas. it is said to fire 8" groupings at 100 yards. the object is to shoot at suspected suicide bombers before they can get close enough to kill you, and you will be able to see if they have explosive residues on their clothing from a safe distance. its nonlethal, but i would not want to be shot with it, looks like it will leave quite a bruise. while this is no taser, i can see applications to police forces world wide. also there is talk of spraying the mips laden paint along roadsides from helicopters. this would result in orders for 1000's of gallons of paint. things are looking up, money is coming in, and everybody has a positive attiude around lkpl these days.

well, somebody bot a whopping 1000 shrs, and took the price up .03 or 25%!! can't wait for some real volume here. let's see, army contract is for 4000 projectiles. with 130,000 troops deployed, 4,000 rounds is a drop in the bucket. seems like 200,000 projectiles would be more like it. oh yeah, that would be a $50 M order!!! and with all the other gadgits in the pipeline, just the tip of the iceberg showing here, imo.

The IEDs are a problem - especially those BURIED under or near a road. However this is a step forward, no doubt about it.

LINKPLUS GETS ARMY CONTRACT!!!
On Thursday, September 20, 2007, Link Plus was awarded a sole source contract by the U. S. Army. The contract is to develop Link Plus’ Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIPs) technology for explosives detection and deliver to the Army 4000 FN-303 Projectiles with the MIPs payload. The contract is for US$1,000,000 and is for 34 weeks.

Attached is a picture of the FN-303 delivery systems and SAFE-T MIPs Projectiles. One delivery system is attached to the M-16 rifle and the other is a stand-alone launcher both used by U.S. troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world. The SAFE-T MIPs projectile is launched and disperses upon impact with a suspicious object from a distance of 100 meters. If an explosive is present, the MIPs will change colors thereby alerting troops, police, or other security personnel to the explosives from a safe distance.

The Johns Hopkins University/Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL) granted Link Plus the exclusive worldwide rights to the MIPs explosive detection technology as well as MIPs technology for the detection of chemical agents, biological agents, pesticides, toxins, and poisons. All of which could be used by terrorist. JHU/APL is a subcontractor to Link Plus under this contract.

This is a very important effort aimed at protecting troops from improvised explosive devices (IED) and other threats.
