We have a population of 4 to 6 million chronic HCV patients in the USA.

This CDC site shows 3.2M.

I think that is high - more like 2.8M in one recent study. Can't find the link right now.

Only 17,000 new cases per year since 2010. Note back in 1999-2001 there were about 4.1M chronic HCV infected.
