sgolds - Doesn't seem Canon is very helpful there. I recall someone discussed a problem with finding a Canon XP64 driver either here or on SI in the past several days. End of story - may never be one for it. Probably nothing until Vista. I think it varied from model to model, though.

Anyone know where to find this driver, or how I should install the 32-bit driver?

Sometimes you can away with installing a 64 bit driver for a base model with acceptable results. You might try Canon's Tech Support. Sometimes companies have a "try at your own risk" beta laying around in a dark corner of their website or one of their international site.

If you discover a way to install the 32 bit print driver, myself and about a million or so others would like to know.

Canon Print Drivers

You might want to check out the Planet AMD64 forum for Canon Print Drivers.

Try PlanetAMD64.com. If they can't help you, there may not
be a driver available.

Just installed WinXP 64-bit (on my Athlon64, of course!) and have one problem: Can't seem to find a 64-bit driver for the Canon MF5550 printer/fax/copier.

Anyone know where to find this driver, or how I should install the 32-bit driver?

Thanks!

From what I gather online, on more than one occasion, Cannon has no intension of writing 64 bit drivers. At least at this time. It seems to me this will have to change at some point before Vista is released?

I remmember being linked to Planet64 or a site named somthing like that. I don't use Cannon. When I installed Win XP Pro 64 bit it found my HP LaserJet-2100 and configures it by itself. Something I never expected, it was ready to go.

My daughter purchased a Canon printer, copier, scanner unit a few monthes ago. Big job w/ 2 paper trays. Must hold 2-4 reams. She's not gonna be a happy camper if Canon don't come up with a driver for Vista.

How is the resturuant going?

Regards

Jules
