I'm wondering about the timetable of Q WCDMA chips. _Last_ CC (January) they mentioned something about six or seven design wins for their WCDMA chips. And Korean manufacturers are just starting to use the chips, right? And it usually takes about a year for new air interfaces to get to market, so... it sounds like QCOM is predicting WCDMA will take off at about that same time.

Maybe they are expecting Vodaphone to open the floodgates, with some previous hints that VOD would use Q's WCDMA chips?

So then what's Hutch's network? It sounds like some handsets are NEC, and NEC was working with DoCoMo, right? If the post from a few days ago about handoff problems on 3 was correct (???), then Q may be guessing that Hutch won't be solving the tech issues soon. Kinda weird.
