JHF. Litigation is not the business model. None of the current licensees came about as a result of litigation. What do you suggest that idc do w/ those that dont want to pay a fair rate? Put their tail between their legs and accept any sum offered?. Now that would be a "bad business model". You qcom guys really crack me up.

JeffreyHF,

I realized you are only here to perturb.

This is what Interdigital says their business is.

THE BUSINESS OF INVENTION

About InterDigital®

With a research and development team of close to 200 engineers, InterDigital develops wireless technologies that are at the core of mobile devices, networks, and services worldwide. We are in “The Business of Invention”: inventing advanced technologies, enabling others in the ecosystem, and licensing our solutions across the industry. We solve many of the industry’s most critical and complex technical challenges years ahead of market deployment, helping drive smarter, more efficient broadband networks and a richer multimedia experience.

InterDigital’s research focuses on fundamental issues like connectivity, power management, spectrum use and data architecture, for applications throughout the wireless ecosystem including infrastructure, devices and application delivery. We participate actively in key industry events worldwide, and have licenses and strategic relationships with many of the world’s leading wireless companies.

Litigation is a consequence of their model, not the model itself. Some in the industry license Interdigital technology willingly, others want to use it and not pay for it. What would you do, let them steal it?
