Then you must not think Woodcrest will perform all that well. That's the only reason they'd hold it back.

Most people in June 2004 would also have bet that AMD would not release a dual core within 11 months (roadmaps were showing H2 2005 and the term dual core was not used on AMD roadmaps till June 14th 2004). As you know Opteron DC's came out in May 2005.
So whilst it is perhaps unlikely it is certainly not impossible that QC will appear this year. I also believe that the release date will be partially driven by Intels performance improvements in future releases.
