However, under the wrong set of circumstances, that plaque may rupture, and its walled-off contents can come into contact with blood and trigger a blood clot formation." Bhatt added, "This combination of plaque and blood clots causes the majority of heart attacks and certain types of stroke, if the blood clot obstructs blood flow to the heart or brain." An artery to the heart that’s blocked causes a heart attack. A blocked artery in or leading to the brain causes an ischemic stroke.

That's what happened to an old family friend of mine earlier this year - plaque broke off in his carotid artery - luckily he recovered after several months of therapy. His idiot surgeon claimed the chiropractor he was the week before it happened was to blame after adjusting his neck, which is total BS - I dug up a bunch of research studies for his Dad proving that they were wrong (he agreed) - I'm a very strong proponent of chiropractic care, it's been a absolute lifesaver for me for over 25 years.

Seeing my doc tomorrow, should be joining the fellow Vascepa consumers by the end of the day ;-) Darn, gotta go find the link to that V coupon....darn it! Printed out my savings card, tried to register it, stupid website said it was an invalid number - WTF? Now on the horn with customer service, think they're going to have to mail me a card or something....this is NOT good! If lots of people are running into the same problem there's trouble afoot - AMRN cannot afford to stumble with this!
