Personally, I don't believe the market will sell off sharply like it did last time. The focus is on the fiscal cliff. If we fall off that cliff, that's where the real selling will begin and start another recession.

GM Sir! I'm talking mainly a big picture view. Head and shoulder tops are the main pattern that I see that it fails on. When a chart rolls over and is below a 50% retrace or the 200 ma, it's probably not going to reverse the trend for long, UNLESS the fundamentals or overall market sentiment changes. I've learned this lesson the hard way from years of failure. The indicators will show an oversold condition and the shorts will cover to cause a blip on the way down, but the vast majority will continue on down.

BBT is an example that comes to mind.
