A Dem source familiar with ad buy info tells me that the Romney campaign has now put a version of the spot on the radio in Toledo, Ohio — the site of a Jeep plant. The buy is roughly $100,000, the source says.
The move seems to confirm that the Romney campaign is making the Jeep-to-China falsehood central to its final push to turn things around in the state.
So this must be what Mitt Romney and his campaign are thinking: "Sure, we're not telling the truth, but to win this election we need to win Ohio, and if we can get enough people to believe that we're being honest, we might have a shot." The Obama campaign is aggressively pushing back against Romney's lie [ http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/10/29/1152181/-Obama-ad-says-Romney-is-deceiving-Ohio-voters-about-auto-bailout-Wrong-then-dishonest-now ] and so is Ohio media. The question now is whether Ohio voters will reward Romney for placing his bet on the power of deception.
