In 2008, Prime Link Systems reached an agreement to partner with a company called MaxWiFi Inc., which obtained a controlling interest in Prime Link Systems. In early 2009 MaxWiFi defaulted on debt due to Prime Link Systems, and the companies later merged under the name Tivus.
Tivus already has inked its first deal with the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Omaha and plans to bring Tivus to the hotel’s 430 rooms by the end of March. The 60-month contract is valued at $1.2 million, Prakash said. A Doubletree employee with knowledge of the project confirmed there was a deal but declined to comment further.
Neither Tivus nor the Marriott company would confirm if the contract Tivus is close to signing is with a Marriott hotel.
But in an interview, Doug Marriott said he joined Tivus’ advisory board because he’s “very high”
Tivus projections show that each hotel room makes the company about $3.50 per day per room from targeted advertising that is embedded in its program. That means the Doubletree alone will generate a baseline revenue of $549,325 per year for Tivus.
