Anything that makes it easier for the consumer will accelerate acceptance. Barcodes aren't always handy, and this gives another option. Maybe this will make Scanbuy give up the ghost such as buyout, partnership, or license. One more piece of the puzzle in place.

This is great news about NEOM acquiring Mobot. I suspect that their image recognition technology is even more advanced than NEOM’s, Nextcode, and Scanbuy’s, to be able to recognize a whole picture. This means that it should be capable of recognizing any form of bar code too, as they claim.

Now you don’t even need a picture of a bar code. Just point your camera phone at the Nike logo on an item like a golf ball, or take a picture of a can of Coke, and go to their web site for special offers. The recognition software should recognize the Nike logo, and the golf ball that contains the logo. Hence no bar code needed on a golf ball.

I think this is so cool! Damn these guys are good! What will they think of next???! LOL!

PS. I agree with Ifitlooks about the MO thing, especially now with this new news. Scanbuy may be on NEOM’s shopping list.
