Desert D, the arb with Samsung will not be necessary unless they try to balk. Remember, Samsung gets the conditions which set the Nokia and IDCC license.

DD: The delay makes sense as it gives IDCC/SAM time to see if NOK appeals any positive award and/or wants to negotiate a settlement after the award.

I think something might be up with Samsung also. Perhaps a 2G/2.5G settlement, or better yet, a 3G license with Samsung might be in the works. Maybe IDCC is strongly targeting a Samsung deal. A couple of quotes from Merritt in the last CC, which might hint to something like that, as follows:

...."We are actively pursuing folks throughout the handset licensing market. You know, we have an emphasis on the top six because that's where all the money is."

...."Equally important, the Company does not revolve around the Nokia arbitration."
