And there are very good reasons for it being such a difficult hurdle. If they passed any decent drug that came along, drug companies would be pouring out so many low-quality compounds that we'd never figure out what really works and what's safe. Biotech companies will put anything out there to make shareholders happy. After all, most of them are in debt and desparately need a product to sell.
