I think the somebody would be JPM. Or at least that is what most are hoping for. The announcement of a 25 mil litigation fund makes that even more of a possiblility for equity to go after the FDIC and JPM.

There is also speculation that SG/EC has been looking for a buyer of the re-org company/NOLs. This could potentially add tremendous value to the shares.

So long term for the re-org, $24 could be a possiblity if the company stays together. But most are hopping JPM will pay for what they stole/were given.

How much would JPMC and FDIC pay the EC for them to not use the $25M litigation - is the key now. We would easily get the $3.7B back and then.... Pandoras box has opened. I do agree that it would take years of litigation for the $24.00 numbers - I see this ending soon unless talks break down. I'm thinking anywhere from $4 - $8 IF we get the gifts back, and JPMC/FDIC pay for no litigation.

These 24$ are as much nonsense as JPMC never ever in their wildest dreams expected to get the honourable Washington Mutual Bank for 1.9 Billion.
Everything is possible, now. The trustee & the EC have partly overtaken the control of this Wamu-Process. We will see on Monday, how the markets are evaluating this !!

WAMUQ OS is 1.7B Shares. No more, No less, and it can't be changed.

It's been 2.5 years since the seizure. Lots of shares have been traded. But lots of shares have been accumulated also.....any guesses as to what the free trading float is right now.....i.e. shares that people aren't holding on to tightly pending a resolution?

Take any share dollar price and multiply by 1.7 to get the total amount in $B.

Even at $10/share, that's only $17 Billion........now I ask you...what was WaMu REALLY worth at time of seizure?

PS. Always wondered at the interest that should have been paid in 2.5 years on that $4B WMI deposit at JPiggy
