Read the PR, not the headline. It actually states that the functionality(payment methods) has been added. It does not state that they are working on it.

If i'm not mistaken the filters were coming from Belgium and electric components from China.

Which means they are most likely assembling the kits in the USA, which would require additional days of labor - hence delay product launch.

Also depending on the merchant providers, merchant accounts typically take around 24 - 36 hours to be approved, I have personally seen them take a week or more.
