stockoptionan, I am not sure I understand the reasons for continuing to give the rich a tax break. The rich will save that money, while the middle class would spend more of it.
Perhaps it helps the stock market, which helps anyone invested, has some indirect help to the economy.
Restoring the previous tax on the wealthy wouldn't solve any problem, but every little bit helps. And it does seem more far.
We in the USA to have too great of an unequal distribution of wealth.
