Just a remark on the pictures I showed in the previous post. I have copied these myself from slides with low a quality scanner. Some slides like the spillway picture still had the dust on them when I scanned them. Terribly annoying!
On the high resolution files there will of course be no hairs and dust on them, as the scans for them will be contracted out to an imaging laboratory.
Hi Conrad. Yes! They are definitely POUS! (Pics of Unusual Size) :-)
I'm a Wisconsin boy myself and appreciate that you posted these. They are quite well composed
There is a lot of free editing software out there on the Web (Picasa comes to mind although I use PhotoStudio which came with my old PC some years back).
Returning the favor (in a smaller way)...Here is a pic from our vacation home on Okauchee Lake in Wisconsin. This was taken with a 6 megapixel camera and was sized down to about 25% of it's actual size. What was 2300 pixels across is now 600.
There's still a lot of sites like that along the Fox River Valley heading toward Green Bay. They let off far less air and water emissions than back even in the '70s. Lots of hunting birds have returned to many areas of WI. We have eagles here in Port Washington, which is much farther south than Paper Valley.
Thanks for the image. Nice to see the reflection off the water on a still day like that. I'll post a similar one - sunrise over Elkhart Lake - later.
