Has anybody looked at Wi-Fibre. It is supposed to replace or compete with Wi-Fi. This new wireless technology operates on a newly licensed radio band with of 71-76 mhz.

QCOM has lots of clout, but so does NOK.

Judging from its "Mr. Tough Guy" approach to constructing contracts, and knowing their utter distaste for paying royalties to one patent holder, much less two, your NOK "vision" makes absolute sense.

Their first argument with QCOM would be, "Why should we pay you 5%, and then pay IDCC royalties as well?"

QCOM may have fixed that problem.

Inspector..L2V.....good thoughts...Nokia will try to get the best deal from both, their tea leaves are easy to read as far as their attitude toward other mfg's and operators.
Trying to put a kill shot on little IDCC's IPR might be a self inflicted wound...that could go on for a while.
I could see one or more trying to leverage a buyott just to save on law fee's :-)
