Yes, that "baggage" that is holding EPGL down is its debt. Debt will either kill EPGL, or it will stimulate EPGL to find constructive ways to solve it. And as for the effect of NEWS, I don't put any stock (pun inteneded) in it. Like you said, good news often results in a decline in pps. I've seen it many times, myself. The only thing I know of that will will bring the pps up to where it should be is if the MM's allow it. Since it is they who control the pps, we small-time investor have no say in the matter. Bummer, but it's true.
I wish news did have its intended effect, but it historically doesn't with these penny stocks. The other problem is that once a rally does start, the MM's (and other investors) often sell off to make a profit, thus lowering the pps down again. What we need to do is be ready to sell along with the MM's when they decide it's time to dump the stock. At least that way, we'll make some money. Being long on a penny stock is risky because you don't know what the MM's, who control it's pps, will do. Bummer.
