desert, thanks for posting the pic of Lula. She is beautiful. I'm sorry to hear that you have been dealing with post surgery rehab. Makes it even more special that you spend time with us on this crazy board.

Lula sounds like she was trained in a loving and caring way. It's awesome that she is able to help you as you go through these post surgery challenges.

I look forward to the updated pictures.

During training one day...

I was out in front of Walmart.

I'm talking directly out in front.

Cars going by. People going in and out. The Brinks truck. The guy pushing in 28 shopping carts. etc.

Some guy was pretty impressed on his way in and on his way out, we were still there. He came over to ask. Hey, buddy. A dog like that. About 17-18 grand?

I said shirley you jest.

He's my $25.00 mutt from the shelter.

The training is that amazing.

I have used a strong leadership method with my Samoyeds in the books about Samoyeds it is called NFL which stands for No Free Lunch. The breed is extremely powerful mentally and tend to be extremely dominate they were bred to not give up in the most dire of situations as a sled dog they work with you not for you. So you can imagine that telling him not to steal a napkin is a battle! The Samoyed is the closest dog to a wolf as far as DNA goes the breed has been chosen for mapping its complete Genome to get to the root of all canine diseases. I have people telling me all the time that we meet in the street "what a well behaved dog what breed is it?" I tell them unless you are prepared for a serious battle do not get a Samoyed.
