Nice move: Tran resigns on the 9th (Monday morn I presume), and mgmt strategically plants the report late Friday. They must be under the illusion that the investment world cares. The reality is: it just reinforces how out-of-touch they are, and makes them look cheap. In this case, looks don't deceive.

One might think there is quite a bit of work to do with the finishing of the sleep apnea trial and the inception of the ADHD trial.

This does not appear to be good news. Let's hope it is simply a better job offer, but with ADHD to be planned, IND filed et al, now he leaves? Weird and not a comforting sign on a Friday evening. Will be interesting to see if anything comes out Monday.

Whoops, I didn't notice that little blurb. On August 9'nth, he gave his notice to leave on August 10'nth.

He could have been offered a job with very little warning... perhaps a Pfizer-rank/Amgn type outfit saying we want you but on condition of starting right now.

Second, a health issue involving him or his family(sorry to speculate on something bad), but this does not make good sense since keeping one's insurance would seem important.

Three, he ran off somewhere, found the love of his life, wants to climb Mt. Everest ala mid-life crisis. I do hope it's option 3, for our sake, but the whole thing makes one quite uneasy.

Of course, the fourth possibility is some varient of the above with some flack or intra-Cortex battle about development plans. That would be possible.

Again, the time to abandon ship from an employee standpoint would seem to be when they were running out of all funds, not after they landed the funding, unless the other shoe is about to drop.

One of the few positives on the Cortex front in their time of acute fiscal stress was that none of the folks left in the past 18 months on their own volition. This appears distinct and it appears to be a key position as well. Another thing to bring up is the fact that P. Tranh actually was not that busy whatsoever for an extended period of time when the companies' monies almost ran out. Let's not forget the apnea trial was actually stopped for some time because of this lack of money, enrollment delayed to save money... their CRO showed this flexibility to help out Cortex... to get paid later.

So now on the cusp of an ADHD trial beginning in months and at the cusp of the magic 20 patients(within months) of the sleep apnea unblinding... at this very time point, he leaves with one day's notice? Even I who, admittedly, tries to always look at the bright side with Cortex, am perplexed. This sounds quite ominous.
