He cut funding because these programs not only provide abortions in other countries, but they try to change the laws in countries that ban abortions. If they want to do that, then they should not get tax money, as much of it comes from people who are against abortion. The same goes for Planned Parenthood in America, because they perform about 10% of all the abortions in the country, and recieve

That is not just a religious issue. Many people have strong beliefs about what is right and wrong.

I don't get the analogy unless you mean that the flat-earthers tried to keep explorers from traveling too far so they wouldn't fall off the earth.

Lets say that I plan to give you money. I put it in a bank account for you. I give you the account number and bank's name, and authority to use the account. Then its up to you. All you have to do is to get it, or leave it there.
Why not just deliver the money to you?
Because I want to make sure you want it. I'm not going to force you to take it if you don't want to.
