IMO there is no need for MM's to do anything but execute the sell orders coming in. The time horizon (in our collective minds) went from early this year (last falls to the end of this year.

Not everyone has a one year time hozizon on hteir investments, especially if they were down already and see this going no where fast. Even those in at .5 to .10 must be feeling a little queasy about now.
