That was in my post as someone earlier had said CVX could just increase their interests in the JDZ as opposed to selling Blk1 interest to Total and I was showing they couldn't become the top dog/operator so they would prefer to move on to bigger projects where they would have control over the whole situation.

why would they drill off structure to begin with? Why not go to the sweet spot to drill? We heard rumors that it was the biggest thing the engineers ever saw. Opec oil minister Dakarou even mentioned it was a billion barrel find. On CNBC etc and then was tight holed. Then they come out with a silly pr stated they do not know if it is commercial? If it looks like a skunk, smells like a skunk etc.

Peter, your post about the positives of Total being the operator of Block 1 was excellent, with AKPO at the top of the list. Why mush it up with more Chevron comments. Chevron officials explained over two years ago that while Obo-1 did find oil, it was not in suffecient quantities for a company with large and productive projects all over the globe. Chevron added that for a smaller company, the find could be commercial.

Chevron added that they would hold off decisions on further drills until after exploratory dilling in other JDZ blocks had been done.

Exploratory drilling has been completed and the other wells have not yielded greater amounts of oil to the present than Obo-1.

Time for Chevron to exit and fortunately for Sinopec-Addax, enter Total, the developer of adjacent AKPO and the King of Condensate.

No tears for Chevron. Hello Total.
