Yeppers. imo, the first thing that needs to be 'dismantled' is the current paradigm of entitlement.
As long as the prevailing thought is that everyone has the right to a perfect life and that the government is there to insure that perfect life, freedom is always going to be threatened.
This country was founded by men and women that understood personal responsibility. There is no free lunch. There never has been. Someone has always paid for it. It should never be the governments job to provide sandwiches for those to lazy to get out of bed.
The 'republic' (not democracy) was founded on laws developed out of the wisdom of Judeo-Christian principles. One of those principles is "If you don't work, you don't eat."
Taking care of those who CAN'T take care of themselves is admirable. But many are under the illusion that taking care of those who WON'T take care of themselves is as well. Not true.
Jesus said, "the poor you will have with you always" - i.e. You WILL NEVER solve the problem!!!
Redistribution of wealth from the rich to the poor is pablum for the masses. History teaches us that what really happens is redistribution of wealth from the middle class to the rich.
Anyone think Al Sharpton, Tim Geithner, Barny Frank, Al Gore, Nancy Pelosi, et al are going to allow THEIR wealth to be redistributed?? LOL Recent events would suggest not if they can help it!
