The number of banks in a particular area of any town is likely related to the number of dollars in the pockets of the local residents. As our country collects more data and is essentially forced to make decisions based on the data we collect, it will appear as though we are socializing and manipulating things when in fact we are trying to manage more responsibly. In the case of WMI versus JPM I support further market competition where ever WMI wants to engage and I hope the FDIC does too, but whether WMI sprouts a retail banking business depends, imho, on whether JPM Chase pays up.

I better get to work, I start as Business Development Manager for a custom software developer Monday. I'm all about Service Oriented Architecture going forward. Maybe we can do some software for the NASDAQ! That would be a personal coup.

As an employee at a GM dealer which is set to close, the process GM has in place to close the dealers in not a smart one. You are right, Saturn tried it and it failed.

Buyers NEED competition. When a customer comes to buy a car, they want the satification knowing they got the best price possible. Closing all these dealers is going to elimate alot of the competition amongest other GM dealers. The customers however are going to other car lines.

I have worked at GM for over 10 years and have made a very good living on repairing GM's poor products. I have owned 2 Honda's over this time!!!
