Good questions junkmasterq, and you have nailed me to rights on semantics.

I see I did post "barren" originally, when I should have posted "barren of economic stones". You could have 1 part per 100 billion diamond, and still claim technically that the kimberlite carried diamonds.

And yes, it is possible that there are richer sections, but the geochemistry pretty much rules that out. Besides, it's less than 200 meters in diameter and 120 meters down.
