WRT the following:
I AM feeling a little sheepish about the conversation with Poet today. I went back and re-read the thread. I can see that his tearing down my extensive post and mis-reading each piece in just enough of an alteration to slant the conversation in his favor is what really ticked me off.

Show me where I twisted your words.
Show me where (until the post I'm responding to now) you responded to the statements and questions raised in my posts to you.

You lost your temper and began to personally attack me precisely because I addressed every point in your posts directly, IMO.

If you actually do feel sheepish, I'll be counting on an apology, a change of behavior, or both.

The medical community has gone way too far is all I am saying. Disease is natural...but spending $450,000 keeping one person alive that would have died years ago is the height of vanity and stupidness. It is unnatural

And if that person is you, or your child, or your spouse, is it still unnatural?

Certainly, as are we all. I am appalled at your beliefs and thoughts and think you should be ashamed, but surely there must have been mitigating behavior to warp you into this bitterness. Have you no happiness?

Tell us of your happiness, things you enjoy. Forget for a while that there are those with whom you disagree.

Speak to us of laughter.

Triple by-passes on someone over 60 should be paid out of pocket. Insurance is unavailable to a lot of Americans today because of the medical extravagances demanded by these selfish people.

We can carry that further.
Fat because you eat too much and you develop diabetes or heart disease? Tough. Insurance won't pay.
Driving too fast, accident, severe injuries? Tough. Insurance won't pay.
Driving drunk, accident, severe injuries? Tough. Insurance won't pay.
Using a cellphone, accident, severe injuries? Tough. Insurance won't pay.
Smoke and you got heart disease or lung cancer? Tough. Insurance won't pay.

Let's take one that applies to me:
Lift a heavy weight the wring way and get a lifelong back injury? Tough. Insurance won't pay.

Any others? Is this what you had in mind?

If none of this applies to you, just wait. Something will.

Go start your own country.
