Hello everybody from Spain. I'm usually a watcher but today i felt i had to post something that may help understand or maybe not but here in Spain we have what is called applications (maybe is not well translated) in the main market and it consists of big buys placed by the big banks (like Merryl Linch)they buy big quantities at the opening and they negotiate the price which sometimes is higher and sometimes lower than the market.

The MM's can cut each other better deals. So I am told. Maybe it's an I'll scratch yours and you scratch mine kind of deal between the MM's. If certain MM's are low on shares they will get blocks from others. Two different brokers told me this. Why they have done like 25% of the daily vol for the past month is what I'd like to know. One poster suggested, and what I have also read in formal reports is that it could be their way of covering/delivering on a short position w/o actually delivering. There would always be a short position in play but they trade it around I guess. Not that this is for sure the case here.
