Rouge- look at FSI as a possible play on your water problem. I don't think your ridiculous "food for fuel" is the problem with water shortages. More to blame is bad management practices.
The real problem is people not excepting new ways of dealing with agriculture, imo.
Just because grandpa dumped tons of chemicals on the farm, used overhea watering irrigation, and tilled year afeter year doesn't mean that it produced a superior product.
If not for ethanol, we would have had more than the 15% surplus of corn last year, btw.
Call it what you will, but ethanol is a viable alternative to the finite supply of oil, imo.
