Snack......I've been useing Freetrade for about 6 months. As far as fills and such it is just about the same as Ameritrade, which I guess makes sense as they are kind of a subsiduary of them. Anyhow......the only problem I've had is that if you put in a stop loss order you might as well plan on getting stopped out. I've had several quick drops right to my set level only to have it go right back up. Some others have mentioned that Freetrade sometimes plays against you when you set such orders by taking out your stops and selling it to others on the ask. I don't know how that works, or if it's true, but I only place stop loss orders when I can't be around the computer for a long period and I'm a bit unsure of the trade.

However.....all and all.....if you can handle not having a real person to contact in real time.....and you don't use many stop orders.....the low fees make it worth it.....at least to me since I make a lot of trades.....mostly bad trades.... but things are going better now with Magic, Mflutie and Tag's guidance.

I have been using FreeTrade for 6+ months now. Its the best move I have ever made. I do 30-50 trades per month and the first 20 are FREE, then it goes $3 per trade up to 100 then $1. Although I have never went above 100. I used Ameritrade before and the service is exactly the same, 5 sec execution and all. The differance is that for 20 trades you save yourself $219.80
The only think thats bad that you have to subscribe for the realtime quotes and Level II, which I use from my old Ameritrade that I have some cahs left over for that reason only.

Freetrade is decent, but the commissions are not as slow as it seems, because the fills aren't so great. You wat the best fills, go direct access. Of course, still cheaper than Ameritrade/Etrade/Scottrade.
