They are really afraid of the unknown now. They were all so sure of themselves about something like 64 bit on x86 being at least a year or so away but right now not only are they shell shocked, they don't know what else is heading their way.
Well I have a good idea of what is headed their way. In about a week the market tracking companies like IDC and Instat are going to release their 4Q03 and 2003 figures for server sales and we are going to see where a lot of those 110K IPF chips sold in 2003 ended up. And we will see the figures for Opteron sales that Ruiz & Co have been so reluctant to discuss.
I suspect the wails of anguish among the true believers will soon start anew. :-P
Earlier I had described what much of what the AMD fanatics post as "regurgitation". I now submit proof. Check out this post from Doug on the AMD IHub thread.
It is a post from DOUG to DOUG referencing DOUG on Silicon Investor.
Hilarious. They establish a rumor and spread it among themselves, often as in this case, to oneself. They then tells us how "everyone" is of the same opinion and therefore what was originally a fantasy in an AMD fanatics brain has now become fact.
