Time2Drum, the shorts have 35 days to clean their laundry, so I doubt they're in a hurry. And with the short-on-uptick rule repealing, they are free to use new shorting to snuff any possible rallies until the time is right to slowly cover.

That is, assuming the SEC isn't just blowing smoke at us, and the shorts really are facing some manner of punishment for not cleaning up.
