eamonn,
Heck at least you were cautious in the period we were meant to be cautious.

But I'm just amazed how so many folks wanted to hear no caution in the years when there was only a theory about the future. And now there's an emerging reality, they don't want to hear anything but caveats and hedged bets.

Beats me.

No worries...

As is apparent, NOBODY ever leaves The Hotel California.

You may miss a bottom... But you probably won't miss it by much.

Even those who "get out" or "never were in"... are ALWAYS around. Often they just change their handles. It's a curious vigilance... a persistent fever...

Hope all is well in Australia.

Best,

Gunshy

I think I had the good luck to lay off the Wave information crack pipe years ago.

Once I learnt to put Wave's comments into my "untested theories" drawer, it was much easier to get my own thinking into context.

The upshot of belief in commentary from Wave, it seems to me, is an uncertainty about what is real and what isn't. I've called this Wavoid schizophrenia. I think it's a very real experience of investing in a company in which you cannot tell what part of the commentary is substantial and what is not.

I think the cure is to lean much more heavily on outside sources of information. When you do that, a kind of unconfused reality reemerges. And maybe the income statement does that for you and others.

But from my perspective, I don't see any particular reason to doubt what I'm seeing in the marketplace. I think this is a hot launch. Pure and simple.
