I've often had the same question excel did.

Isn't there, and if not why not, some web site or something that simply lists program or file names and what they do?

When I do a ctrl-alt-del I find, for example, Rnaapp, Point32, Mswheel, Monwow, etc. Have NO idea what most of this crap is and what would happen if I deleted it. (And how to get it to quit loading if i really don't want/need it!)

This information should be somewhere out there!

Maybe you should start a list here on IH -- the ibox could just list them all and as more names came in in messages they could be listed in the ibox. I bet if everybody here did a CAD on their computer and listed what came up, I would be there wouldn't be more than 200 or 300 names which appeared on more than five computers. Of course, then we have to figure out what they all DO.
