WOW! Knowles - I'm surprised you didn't do a simple google search prior to posting that... you continually demonstrate your lack of knowledge in this area. Here you go:
"All that’s needed is a bootable USB Flash drive with at least 256 MB of storage capacity and a Windows Setup CD. Using the program Bart PE Builder (Freeware), you can install Windows XP on the flash drive, along with other software as needed (and as available space permits)."
So much for your "can't be done" statement... LOL!
The above is just 1 sample - there are MANY programs that will enable windows to run on a usb key... Somehow I don't think that Jimmy has anything like this however...
Cyberkey does NOTHING that the home user or IT guy cannot do, with FREE tools. All CKYS is doing right now is selling a few USB keys, that can be customized in the same way that they can be, from their supplier ST. Maybe if they actually had released some of the UNIQUE products they advertise, would i agree with you. But right now, all that you and I can buy, AS SHOWN BY THEIR SITE, are three USB keys.
Later I will show you how to use a free utility to trim the excess fat off of Windows XP and make it a whole lot smaller. Even so, I still recommend that your flash drive be at least a minimum of 256 MB in size.
Google: minimal windows xp boot 256 mb or Google: minimal windows xp boot 256mb
Here's What You Need to Use Windows XP Professional
•PC with 300 megahertz or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233 MHz minimum required (single or dual processor system);* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, or AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended •128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features) •1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available hard disk space*
1.5GB is the space needed to install all features and have a copy of the installation files. I've got bootable versions (from MS for OEM's) that take up considerably less and there are other stripped down versions on the interweb that can fit on a 256 MB flash drive. I think I also saw a version less then 128MB. I'd have to search again for it. All depends on what you want to call Windows XP.
