tecate, welcome if you are a new poster. Do you really want to start your track from pissing contests?

Posts like "Prescott will be faster than Athlon" at this stage are nothing but wishes. Because we don't know.

If you are putting aside both P4EE and Athlon FX, than today Athlon 64 is one full speed grade faster than P4 with one more speed grade coming next week.

Will Intel's Prescott close the gap of two full speed grades? We gonna see very soon.

tecate - re: Athlonfx came about because AMD thought Prescott would be a better performer in 32bit than athlon64. So - AMD had an emergency edition first. All part of doing business.

Problem is, that AMD has actually been able to deliver (for once!)substantially more FXs than Intel has EEs.
