Follow-up to note saying BRCM and QCOM have reached a settlement@DBAB - Deutsche Bank's source has been given permission to go ahead with the production of 3G phones containing BRCM chips. Thus, following QCOM's denial of a settlement, DBAB thinks one of three things is happening: 1) A settlement has been reached, just not finalized. 2) The new head of Samsung is going to ship handsets with BRCM chips and accept the legal risk. 3) Some legal indemnification has been given to Samsung by BRCM so the company can ship 3G phones with BRCM's chip.

Let's not forget.

Both Sammy and Motorola have phones that could be affected by a ban on QCOM chips and phones.
