Question: Is EMP for handset manufacturing or is it for modem ASIC chip manufacturing? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I now recall the EMP option, but I have not seen any 8k's regarding exercising same. I also recall that IDCC and IFX did have a cross-license relationship initially and more than likely kept it in the redo last year. I am not sure that IDCC gets a free ride if it directly competes with IFX, but your post certainly goes a long way in relieving some of my concerns. I certainly believe IDCC is entering into the chip business for reasons other than a good margin return on a stand alone basis. I thought it was unfortunate that the sector shifted gears concerning licensing at the chip level for 3g, but then again with friends like Nok and the boys who needs enemies, right. Perhaps the EMP platform passes through the ARM IPR that Data made reference to earlier this week.

Never a dull moment and it sure would be nice to get that first punch in on the short players.

Thanks again,

MO

If you look at IDCC's product brochure, I think it's obvious it's not related to EMP's platform at all.
