You need to take a closer look at the rules. NO TWO PEOPLE CAN HAVE THE SAME TIMES. Therefore, a three way tie is obviously impossible because if two people can't have the same times, then three sure can't.

However, it IS possible for a two way tie because the exact time to the second COULD happen (theoretically) exactly between any two people specifically because each pick is on an even number of seconds (5 minute increments or a multiple of 5 minute increments).

I don't know how else to explain it.
